Pavlov: Shack, the spin-off free-to-play version of Pavlov VR for Oculus Quest has been available for a few weeks now, though through unofficial channels.
The initial plan was to have the game release on the Oculus Quest Store as a native app on December 19th, 2019, but that didn’t happen. Instead, Pavlov: Shack got a soft launch on that date as a sideloadable release before being put on the SideQuest storefront earlier this month.
We’re still some way off having the official launch on the Oculus Quest Store, but the game’s developer has stated that the team hopes to have the game released as version 1.0 by June 2020. It means we’ll still be playing a pre-release build for the next six months or so, but at least the project hasn’t been abandoned and the developer is continuing to support Oculus’ standalone headset.
If you’ve not yet given Pavlov: Shack a go yet, you should. It’s a first-person shooter in the same vein as Counter Strike, but in VR. It’s completely free-to-play and you can download and install it easily using SideQuest. You can find our tips on doing that through here.
