Pure PSVR Plays: Week 8

Well done, you! Yes, you! You’ve survived another gruelling week of employment and/or school, and now it’s time to forget about the mundane Monday-Friday grind and get some gaming done which, these days anyway, involves lots of grinding. OK, maybe gaming is a little too close to work at times, but at least it’s on your own terms! If only you could get paid for it…

We’re a little late this week with Pure PSVR Plays, but that’s because we’ve been having so much fun playing. Myself and Jez have recently gotten into the brilliant Onward VR, as well as Arizona Sunshine on Oculus Quest. It may not look as great as the PC and PSVR versions, but it’s good fun nonetheless, and being completely wireless is definitely a wicked feature. Here’s what we’re doing this weekend:

I had planned to play some Onward VR, as well as some other PCVR games via Oculus Link on Oculus Quest. Unfortunately, my weekend gaming plans are now in jeopardy as I’m getting the dreaded “three dots” problem when connecting to my PC. I’m hoping a fresh install of Oculus on my PC will get things going again, and if it does then I can guarantee you that I’ll be spending as much of my weekend as possible in Onward VR. I’ve got a few reviews to work on for Pure PSVR and Pure PlayStation, so if it all does go tits up, at least I’ve got a reason to be productive…

Jeremy Peterson

I’m late to the party, I know, but I can’t stop playing Onward right now. The coms over a Link cable aren’t ideal, but our WhatsApp workaround gets the job done. I’m still finishing Jedi: A Fallen Order and some The Division 2, but Onward, the freshly released Arizona Sunshine Quest port and A Fisherman’s Tale make up most of my weekend gaming adventures.
